Debbie McGee is hoping to take part in this year's run of Strictly Come Dancing to honour her late husband, magician and TV presenter Paul Daniels.

Speaking to The Sun, the 57-year-old said: "Paul was on Strictly Come Dancing (in 2010) and that's something I'd just love to do in his memory.

"I'm getting my agent to ring them. I've written it on my list of things to get finalised. I would love to do it."

She continued, "In my life with Paul we always pushed for work. We loved working and loved showbusiness - you never know what's around the corner.

"I'm not sure who they would partner me up with because they keep changing all the professionals. The best choreographer they had was Artem Chigvintsev but he's gone now. To be honest they are all fantastic."

Paul Daniels died on March 17 at the age of 77 after being diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.

McGee recently said that her late husband was "happy, joking and laughing" until two days before his death. McGee and Daniels were married for almost 30 years and she was also his on-stage assistant.
