Viewers fell head over heels in love with the Irish version of First Dates on RTÉ2 last night. Let's just say there were some interesting characters thrown into the mix.
It's SUPER - like amazing!
Before you go examining the typography of the letters in this sentence, let's take a moment to applaud James and his Jedward-like enthusiasm. His obsession with fancy calligraphy, Pokémon Red and anime, and his ability to talk for Ireland, made him a Super-D-Duper dater.

How's your doodle?
And the award for the most entertaining date of the night goes to . . . South African model Frederica and Donegal man Lee. Frederica had no qualms about telling her date about her high sex drive, which led her to ask him about his eh, doodle (we'll let you figure out what that is).
She is is also on point with her personal hygiene and whipped out hand sanitizer before their meal, prompting a very confused (and scared) Lee to say, "This is mental stuff - would you get out of it!"
BTW age is not just a number in Frederica's eyes. She's 30 minus 5. 25! She's 25!

All By Myself . . . Don't Want to Be All By Myself
Dental nurse Ciara was all smiles despite getting stood up by her date. The guy had 'a family emergency' (ahem, his wife totally caught him leaving the house), but the lovely Ciara managed to distract herself by flirting with the loveliest bar man, like EVER.
At least she had her lovely mum (and lots of prosecco) only a phone call away to give her some words of wisdom.

Looking at the Man in the Mirror
Whoever said 'opposites attract' was wrong! We're looking at you Paula Abdul!
So, Simon and Tynan (even their names rhyme) need to get a DNA test to make sure they aren't related. Both bearded, brawny and bald, with cracking personalities, these guys were freakishly similar. They even ordered the exact same meal!
It looks like all of Simon's warm-up dates paid off and his third date of the week really did bring the charm.

Amy's Achy Breaky Heart
Cian Healy lookalike and landscape architect, Daryl from Kildare, caused uproar on Twitter after friend-zoning his gorgeous date Amy from Wexford. She was the perfect catch and even laughed at his 'bush' gag.
We hear he's getting barred from Coppers after that poor show and Amy is going to prank him dressed as Marty Morrissey for the REST of his life!

THIS moment, will we ever recover. #FirstDatesIrlhttps://t.co/rk0I7nYFF9
