All hail the Queen! Panti Bliss aka Rory O'Neill has made it to number 29 in the TIME 100 most influential people poll beating the likes of Rihanna, JJ Abrams, Amy Schumer and, sweetest of all, Vladimir Putin.

Every year TIME magazine asks readers to vote for whom they think is the world's most influential people.

Panti was included on the initial list of 127 worldwide public figures selected by the magazine, and was described by TIME as a “global champion for equality” and “one of Ireland’s most prominent advocates for LGBT rights”.

Despite slipping down from an earlier commanding position ahead of Mark Zuckerberg and Jennifer Lawrence, she still made it to a very respectible 29th place once voting closed at midnight on Wednesday after securing 1% of votes.

Just to put that in context that was the same percentage vote received by Apple CEO Tim Cook, Hilary Clinton and Serena Williams. She still finished up ahead of global figures such as US Vice President Joe Biden, Rihanna, Usain Bolt and Ronaldo. The poll itself was won by Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

The accolade caps a remarkable year for the campaigner who played such a big role in the successful Marriage Equality Referendum and who's documentary film, The Queen of Ireland, scored the highest opening weekend ever for an Irish documentary.

The final list will chosen by TIME's editors and will be announced on April 21 so there's no guarantee that Panti will make the final cut, however Panti told her Facebook followers that if there is an invite to a party she already has her date picked out.
