Chat show host Graham Norton earned more than £2.5m (over €3m) in fees and salary last year, for his hosting duties including The Graham Norton Show and his BBC Radio 2 Saturday programme.

The Corkman, who also provides the wry commentary on the Eurovision Song Contest in Britain, received a paycheck worth £2.52m which was made up of "presenter fees, production fees and royalties" from the production company So Television.

He's also due a further €730,000 as a creditor of the company.

So Television was acquired by ITV in 2012 in a deal that was worth up to €21m, netting the broadcaster a tidy windfall estimated at just under €10 million.  The production company, which focuses on comedy and entertainment was founded 16 years ago by Norton and his business partner, producer Graham Stuart.

At the time Norton said "So Television has been our baby for more than 12 years, so I’m thrilled that the ITV family has decided to take it under their wing and help it blossom".

Norton is already one of the BBC's highest paid stars, and despite efforts by the braodcaster to slash the pay of its top stars his pay is still very much in line with last year when he earned £2.3 million.

So Television made £11.57m in revenues in the year to the end of July 2015.
