Popular plasticine person Morph is making a comeback with the backing of Sky Television and award-winning animation studio Aardman.
Marking the UK satellite broadcaster's entry into original children's programming, Morph is being resurrected by Aardman, whose co-founder Peter Lord created him in 1977.
The clay stop-motion comedy character was made famous through various UK TV shows presented by the late Tony Hart, such as Take Hart and Hartbeat.
"Last year we expanded our service from over 700 episodes to more than 4,000 episodes of the best kids programming available," said Luke Bradley-Jones, Brand Director of TV Products at Sky.
"We are moving into original children's productions, much in the way we have drama and sport, to bring new, exclusive content to kids.
"We will be starting with new episodes of children's classic Morph later this year."
The new Morph episodes will feature on a new Sky Kids app, aimed at preschoolers to nine-year-olds and featuring a range of shows from channels such as CBeebies, Nick Jr, Boomerang and Cartoon Network.
"We're not just making animated episodes of Morph, we'll also be creating a series of live action shows with Aardman, showing kids not only how to make their own figure, but how to animate it and make short videos," said Lucy Murphy, Head of Kids content at Sky.
Right. There's only thing do here in Ireland. Has anyone got Bosco's mobile phone number?
