The Irish Pictorial Weekly crew get their collective satirical teeth into the events surrounding Easter 1916 and its effect on the Irish people.

What to Watch

Irish Pictorial Weekly – 1916 Special, 9.35pm, RTÉ One

The satirical sketch show turns its gaze on the 1916 centenary celebrations and reflects on what Ireland has done with its independence in 1922 and over the 100 years since the Easter Rising.

Starring the likes of Barry Murphy, Paul Woodfull, Gary Cooke, Alan Shortt, Abie Philbin Bowman, Kevin Gildea and a host of others, it's sure to include something offensive for everyone in the TV audience.

Movie Choice of the Day

Inside Out, Sky Movies Premiere, 8.00pm

Yet another nailed-down animated classic from those wonderful people at Pixar, this recent Oscar winner concerns a young girl in Minnesota named Riley. In her mind, five personifications of her basic emotions - Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger - gradually come to life. The result is dazzling.

Best On Demand/TV Catch-up

Brotherhood, Sky Box Sets

This impressive neo-Sopranos crime drama has a great cast that stars Jason Isaacs (pictured) and Jason Clarke as two contrasting Rhode Island brothers, one a politician, the other a criminal, and also includes Fionnula Flanagan as the family's delightfully malevolent matriarch.

Soap Choice of the Day

Fair City, RTÉ One, 8.00pm

More Carrigstown carry-on as Renee is horrified when Zoe reveals that Ellie has sneaked off to see Heather. Meanwhile, an outraged Decco warns Oisin to keep away from Charlotte, Dermot takes his anger out on Tommy, who is horrified to realise that Dermot wants to destroy him.

Today's Guilty Pleasure

Nashville, TG4, 11.30pm

Terrible time. Fun show. This soap with Stetsons has been great craic since it first started and season four continues as the calamitous Deacon Claybourne sets up a new business with an old friend – something's got to give here – while  country superstar Luke Wheeler's integrity is called into question.
