Online entertainment outlet The Lad Bible has apologised to Prison Break star Wentworth Miller after they ran an internet meme which poked fun at his weight gain.
Miller addressed the meme, a picture of the actor from 2010, which was posted on The Lad Bible’s Facebook account, and told fans about his mental health struggles, saying that at the time he was suffering in silence.
43-year-old Miller, who is best known for his role as Michael Scofield in Prison Break, took to Facebook himself to say: "Today I found myself the subject of an Internet meme. Not for the first time. This one, however, stands out from the rest.
"In 2010, semi-retired from acting, I was keeping a low profile for a number of reasons. First and foremost, I was suicidal. This is a subject I've since written about, spoken about, shared about. But at the time I suffered in silence. As so many do."
He continued: “In 2010, fighting for my mental health, it was the last thing I needed. Long story short, I survived. So do those pictures. I'm glad."

Miller ended his post by encouraging others to speak out and seek help if they experience similar feelings.
"If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. Reach out. Text. Send an email. Pick up the phone. Someone cares. They're waiting to hear from you. Much love. - W.M. #koalas #inneractivist #prisonbroken," Miller said.
Miller’s response to the meme went viral on social media and prompted The Lad Bible, which has more than 11 million followers on Facebook, to issue an apology.
The site was clear to state that "mental health is no joke or laughing matter" and admitted they were "very, very wrong".
