Alan Halsall and Lucy-Jo Hudson, who married in 2009 after meeting on the set of Coronation Street, have parted ways after seven years of marriage.

The couple first met in 2005 on the ITV soap, where Alan played Tyrone Dobbs and Lucy-Jo starred as Katy Harris, and welcomed daughter Sienna-Rae in 2013.

They announced their break-up through a statement released by their representatives which read: "Lucy-Jo Hudson and Alan Halsall are sad to announce that they have separated.

"They have shared many wonderful years together and will remain close friends.

"They ask for privacy at this emotional time, to allow both to focus on their beautiful daughter Sienna-Rae, to ensure her continued happiness."

Hudson left her role in Coronation Street in 2005, but Hudson continues to play long-running character Tyrone Dobbs, a role he has inhabited since 1998.
