Game of Thrones star Carice van Houten is expecting her first child with Guy Pearce.
The 39-year-old star, who plays Melisandre on the hit series, sparked relationship rumours with Pearce earlier this year after being spotted out and about in Los Angeles together. A representative for van Houten has now confirmed that they are expecting a child together.

Taking to Twitter, the actress made reference to a memorable Game of Thrones scene while sharing the news.
"Ok. I'm ready for your shadowbaby jokes," she tweeted.
Van Houten met 48-year-old Pearce last year while filming the not-yet-released Brimstone. Pearce split from his ex-wife in January 2015 after 18 years of marriage.

Game of Thrones returns in the US on April 24 with Sky Atlantic to simulcast the episode at 2am on April 25. The episode will then be repeated on Sky Atlantic later that day at 9pm.
