It was a case of putting the band back together in Dublin on Tuesday night as the cast and crew of the acclaimed new Irish film Sing Street were reunited for a special screening ahead of the musical romance's release on St Patrick's Day.
Writer-director John Carney was joined by actors Ferdia Walsh-Peelo, Jack Reynor, Mark McKenna, Don Wycherley, Kelly Thornton and their co-stars for the screening at Vue Liffey Valley.

Afterwards the cast and director took part in a Q&A session and Walsh-Peelo and McKenna performed an acoustic set of songs from the film, which received its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in the US in January.

"It's great to be reunited with the cast of Sing Street, just days before the release on St Patrick's Day," said director Carney. "Along with the nominations for eight IFTAs, it has been a pretty good week."
Sing Street has received IFTA nominations for Best Film, Director, Script, Supporting Actor (Jack Reynor), Music, Sound, Costume Design and Make-Up and Hair. The winners will be announced at the IFTA Film and Drama Awards in the Round Room of the Mansion House on Saturday April 9.
Sing Street tells the story of Conor (Walsh-Peelo) who is forced to leave private school for a far tougher inner-city education experience when economic reality bites.

He falls for Raphina (Lucy Boynton) and invites her to appear in his band's music videos. She agrees, but the problem is Conor doesn't actually have a band. Yet.
Reinventing himself as 'Cosmo', Conor gets together with a bunch of like-minded teenage souls to make music, and so embarks on the journey that will change his life.
