An Klondike leads the nominations for this year's IFTA Film & Drama Awards, with nine nods in total, including Best Drama, Best Director (Drama) and Best Actor (Drama) for Dara Devaney.
The first Western to be made in Ireland, An Klondike is an epic tale of greed, love, betrayal... and gold. It tells the story of the Connolly Brothers; three Irish emigrants who embark on a dangerous journey to the heart of the Yukon during the Klondike gold rush of the 1890's.
Speaking to RTÉ TEN after the nominations were announced a thrilled Pierce Boyd of Abú Media said: "We are absolutely delighted with the nine IFTA nominations for An Klondike, it is great recognition for all the hard work the whole team put into making it.
"There have been some incredible Irish productions this year and we know the competition is going to be very tough. However we are really looking forward to the big night - we will be making plenty of noise. The West will be out in force!"
Room, Sing Street and My Name is Emily have each received an impressive eight nominations in the film categories, with Brooklyn scoring seven.
Room producer Ed Guiney said: “We are delighted with these nominations, it is very gratifying to get this recognition at home."
