Fans of the big-screen remake of Baywatch had been getting their red shorts/bikinis in a knot over the failure to cast The Hoff in the movie.
But it's deep sighs all round after it was confirmed that, yes!!! he's finally been given a part.
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson revealed the news on Instagram, posting a clip of a video call with David Hasselhoff telling the star that "there ain't no Bay without the Hoff".
When asked if he was ready, the Hoff replied "I was born ready!".
Hasselhoff starred as LA County lifeguard Mitch Buchannon in the tv series, the same character The Rock will play in the film. The comedy will see Buchannon forced to team up with a younger lifeguard (played by Zac Efron) to save the beach from an environmental disaster.
In his Instagram post, The Rock said that,
Hoff's a cool dude who's down to have fun and here's the best part.. He's been training his ass off and gotten in the best shape he's been in years! (cue slo-mo running and glistening chest hair..) World get ready.
There will also be plenty of Irish interest in the movie after it was reported earlier this week that former MMA fighter Cathal Pendred has also landed a role in Baywatch.

He recently told RTÉ that he was interested in pursuing an acting career saying "I'm also doing a bit of acting as well - it's something I've always been interested in. I've done some small parts here and there but now that I have a bit of extra time and don't have to focus everything on a fight I'm doing auditions".
Baywatch is due to hit cinemas here next May.
