Alan Partridge returns in all his pompous self-regard with six new episodes starting tonight, a new book of essays and "think pieces" and a one-off documentary in which he deals with, ahem, inequality. He travels to the North of England, doorsteps a loan shark, and spends time with a gang. Lord preserve us. And maybe him, too.

Highlights from last night's show. Taylor Swift's 1989 won the Album of the Year accolade at LA's Staples Center. In her few words for the occasion, Swift let us know that she is the first woman to win Album of the Year twice. "I want to say to all the young women out there - there are going to be people along the way who are going to try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame," she balefully announced. Adele had some technical problems involving a mic and piano strings during her performance of All I Ask, while Lady Gaga had a go at a Bowie medley. The musical director was Nile Rodgers, producer of Bowie's Let's Dance album. Duncan Jones, son of David, tweeted: "Overexcited or irrational, typically as a result of infatuation or excessive enthusiasm; mentally confused. Damn it! What IS that word!?"

Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have met in the knockout stages of the Champions League for three consecutive seasons at this point, and their last encounter produced as, British newspaper the Telegraph neatly describes it, "something of a ding dong cup tie". More of the same tonight? Remains to be seen.
