Former 1D star Zayn Malik has hit the top of the British singles charts with his debut solo single “Pillowtalk”.
The Official Charts Company has confirmed it’s the fastest-selling single in the UK of the year so far, with combined sales of 112,000 and 4.97 million streams.
Meanwhile Zayn has denied that he pulled out of two all-important interviews and refused to perform at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend on the same day as pop group Little Mix. for fear of bumping into his ex Perrie Edwards.The pair split last August after Zayn allegedly broke up with her via text message.
A spokesperson for the 23 year old has insisted there is no truth to the rumour, saying it would only take the shine off his performance if Perrie was there. The source is quoted as saying “Zayn and his team really want his solo career to be about his music. Once they are both at the same location on the same day, tongues will wag.”
Zayn is currently dating the star of his “Pillowtalk” music video, supermodel Gigi Hadid.
