Bruce Springsteen has been confirmed to play Dublin's Croke Park on Friday May 27.
Croke Park concert rumours have continued since last year and now fans dreams have come true with the Boss set to roll into town in just a few months.
It is rumoured Springsteen will play up to three nights in the venue. Tickets go on sale next Thursday, February 11 from usual outlets.
Springsteen is currently in the early stages of his The River Tour in the US and Canada, which sees him playing his seminal 1980 double album in its entirety. The setlists have been hitting the three-hour, 30-minute mark with over 30 songs performed. The tour was preceded by the documentary film The Ties That Bind late last year.
The North American leg of The River Tour is due to conclude on April 25 in New York, and Springsteen has announced that he will be playing the Rock in Rio festival in Lisbon on May 19 - what looks like the opening date of his traditional European summer jaunt. The only other European dates announced so far are Milan (July 3) and Rome (July 16).
Springsteen's last Irish shows were in the summer of 2013 when he played Limerick, Cork, Belfast and Kilkenny.
His last Dublin shows, at the RDS, were in the summer of 2012. Croke Park and the Aviva Stadium are the two major venues he has yet to play in the capital.
The River Tour has received rave reviews in the press, with British newspaper The Guardian saying "Springsteen's stamina, exuberance and ability to connect remain unrivalled", and the New York Times reporting that the performance of the album was followed by "one can-you-top-this song after another".
Springsteen's most recent show was at Boston's TD Garden on Thursday night. Here's what the fans had to say:
