American singer-songwriter Kris Kristofferson has donated the €50,000 proceeds of his Dublin gig this Wednesday to the ISPCC's Childline service.
Kristofferson had already sold out two dates at the Olympia Theatre on Monday and Tuesday and added a third date especially to support Childline, a service which is close to his heart. He also donated the box office takings of a Dublin gig in 2011 to the service.
Childline is a part of the The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and provides children with help 24 hours a day via telephone and online. The service received over 600,000 calls and contacts in 2015.
Golden Gloves boxer, Rhodes scholar and acclaimed actor Kristofferson has had a long-standing love affair with Ireland and has played here many times over his long career.
