Mariah Carey has become engaged to Australian billionaire James Packer following a whirlwind romance.
The couple began their relationship just under a year ago and according to sources they "fell head over heels in love with one another" straight away.
According to reports from E! News, Packer proposed to the Grammy Award-winning singer in her hometown in Long Island, New York, presenting her with a 35 carat diamond engagement ring.
Carey previously revealed that their relationship stemmed from a friendship that began in 2014 and have been on romantic dates around the globe, including stops in St. Bart's, Ibiza and Israel. They rang in the New Year with Packer's family in Melbourne, where Carey delighted party-goers with a performance.
Their wedding day will be the third for each of them, and they each have children from previous relationships; Carey is mum to 4-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, while Packer has three children, Indigo (7), Jackson (5) and Emmanuelle (3).
