Operation Transformation leader Dan Kennedy will not take part in this week's weigh-in or in any challenges as he is currently in hospital where he is being treated for severe colitis.

At last week’s weigh-in, viewers saw Dan tell the Operation Transformation experts that he had not been feeling well, suffering from stomach cramps and passing blood.

Following a number of tests by medics Dan was admitted to hospital where he remains, receiving treatment for severe colitis.

As a result, Dan did not follow the Operation Transformation plan this week and did not take part in this week’s weigh-in, weekly challenge or park run.

Speaking from hospital Dan said: "I am really disappointed to have to step back from Operation Transformation this week but I am really hopeful that, all going well, I will be back soon.

He added: "I would definitely recommend to anyone who has any niggling worries to not be afraid to go to their doctor and get it sorted. I also encourage anyone following my plan to keep going and thank you for all your support”.

Operation Transformation expert Dr Ciara Kelly said: “Dan is currently in hospital being treated for severe colitis. He is being monitored and is receiving all the treatment and care that he needs. This is a condition that pre-existed his involvement in Operation Transformation which Dan was unaware of.

"Dan has shown immense leadership qualities during this time, showing huge concern for his followers. We would like to wish him a speedy recovery”.

Elsewhere on Operation Transformation, an old knee injury has flared up for leader John Conmy and his exercise regime has been changed to take account of this, find out what happens on tonight's show.
