David Gest quits CBB on medical grounds

As the old Monty Python sketch said, "No no he's not dead, he's resting!". David Gest has pulled out of Celebrity Big Brother for medical reasons, though not because he's deceased as thought by at least one housemate last week.

He's the second person to voluntarily exit the show after Kim Kardashian's friend, Jonathan Cheban, quit last week, citing its "bad vibe".

Viewers have seen Gest take to his bed over the last few days and was exempt from tasks after being given special time to get better in a separate part of the house.

However today producers confirmed that the 62-year-old is leaving the show. His exit will be screened on tonight's episode of the show.

A statement said: “Due to medical reasons, David Gest has decided to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House.”

A tweet from his official account said: “Sorry guys but DavidGest2016 is a bit poorly just now! When he is all fixed we will let ya know xx.”

The US Producer and ex of Liza Minnelli was at the centre of a bizarre row last week, when fellow contestant Tiffany Pollard presumed Angie Bowie was talking about Gest when she said "David is dead".

Talking to Pollard in the kitchen, Angie said: "Tiff, you've got to do me a favour. You can't say a word. David's dead."  Pollard assumed the David in question was Gest and started screaming before running outside to tell her fellow housemates the news.

After discovering that Gest was very much alive, Pollard ranted: "She (Angie) told me that David died. Why the f*** would she do that? She just told me that you were dead. That is so f***ing - ! Why the f*** would she do that to me?".
