Organisers of the London Critics' Circle Film Awards have extended the British categories to include Irish talent, with Colin Farrell, Michael Fassbender and Saoirse Ronan among the nominees.
Brooklyn has been nominated for British/Irish Film of the Year with Saoirse Ronan scoring a nod for Best Actress of the Year and Best British Irish Actress of the Year for Brooklyn and Lost River.
Michael Fassbender garnered a nomination for Best Actor of the Year and Best British/Irish Actor for Steve Jobs, Macbeth and Slow West, while Colin Farrell is nominated for Best British/Irish Actor of the Year for The Lobster and Miss Julie.
Emma Donoghue picked up a nod for Breakthrough British/Irish Filmmaker for Room.
The Revenant stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy who will go head to head at this year's 36th London Critics' Circle Film Awards.
DiCaprio is nominated for Best Actor of the Year for his role in the gritty western drama, which is hotly tipped for Academy Award success next month.
Hardy is also up for the award for his portrayal of the Kray twins in Legend, as well as being nominated for Best Supporting Actor of the Year for The Revenant, and Best British Actor of the Year.
Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara will battle it out for the Best Actress of the Year prize after starring together in romantic drama Carol, which is leading the way with seven nominations.
A host of Oscar nominees are up for awards including Broadchurch's Charlotte Rampling, Brie Larson and Kate Winslet.
The documentary Amy, which depicts the troubled life of the late singer Amy Winehouse, is nominated for three awards - Best Film of he Year, Best Documentary of the Year and British/Irish Film of the Year.
Sir Kenneth Branagh will receive the evening's top accolade when he is presented with the Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Film.
Previous winners have included Miranda Richardson, Gary Oldman, Dame Judi Dench, Julie Walters and Sir Michael Caine.
The awards will be held at London's May Fair Hotel on January 17 and are voted for by 140 members of the Critics' Circle Film Section.
