A street party in honour of David Bowie took place outside The Ritzy in Brixton, the area of London where he was born in 1947, with thousands of fans gathering to sing Bowie songs and remember the late musician.
Many fans paid tribute to the star, who passed away aged 69 on Sunday. They lay flowers and lit candles and joined together to sing some of the star's biggest hits in a fitting tribute to the icon.
Bowie's image was projected onto the side of a building while some of his classic tracks, including Space Oddity, Let's Dance and Starman were played over a speaker system - though the sounds of the thousands of singing fans drowned it out in parts.
Videos of the memorial have been appearing on Twitter with the event described by one fan as a "beautiful end to the saddest of days."

The Facebook event for the street party, which was created earlier today, reads: "Bowie's time on this earth may be over, but he sure left us some great music. Today is a day to gather together and celebrate.
"Please share with anyone you think would be able to help with music or any other element of this event - bring instruments, speakers, food, and most importantly love."
