A contestant on The Voice of Ireland was forced to make an extremely difficult decision on Sunday night when she discovered that the battle stage of the show clashed with her wedding date.
Emmie Reek made her first stage performance as a drag queen on the show and her powerful performance of Adele's One and Only impressed all four judges.
27-year-old Emmie from Brazil, who has been living in Ireland for a year, said: "I really want to get through - but if I get through I'm going to have to make a really serious decision. I'm either going to be walking down the aisle or walking down the stage at The Battles."
Emmie told co-host Eoghan McDermott all about her wedding predicament
The coaches were full of praise for Emmie's performance, with all four vying for her to be on their team, but it was Una Foden of girlband The Saturdays whose feedback paid off the most.
Former Westlife star Kian Egan complimented Emmie's "fabulousness" and "spectacular" tone and said: "Your voice is spectacular. When you opened up the song you switched us on straight away. It was a joy to listen to and then to turn around and see the whole fabulousness that goes with it. It was fantastic and you got four chairs turning around for you. Congratulations!"
Foden, who was later picked by Emmie to be her mentor, said: "You really are fabulous in every way. Those legs are amazing. Wow. From the moment you opened your mouth I knew I was going to push that button straight away. Your voice is just so smooth and beautiful. You are a star and I'd love you on team Una."
Emmie performed Adele's hit One and Only
Former Bilzzards frontman Bressie added he was a huge advocate of self expression and said that was "a huge part of being a singer."
Ex-S Club 7 member Rachel Stevens agreed with Bressie and said "there's so much we could do with your voice."
A loving embrace: Emmie's partner is delighted by the news
Emmie's fiancé was overjoyed by the good news and made the decision to postpone the wedding telling his partner that it's an opportunity that could not be missed.
"Since we spoke I was thinking about what we should do. I had a feeling it was going to be good news," he told host Eoghan McDermott.
Looking to his teary-eyed partner, he added: "I think we should stay here. This is an opportunity. It's your dream and you have to fulfil your dream. We can always postpone the wedding."
You can catch The Voice of Ireland on Sundays on RTÉ One at 6.30pm.
