Irish actors Maria Doyle Kennedy and Simon Delaney will be on the big screen this summer in the sequel to the hit chiller The Conjuring.

The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist opens in Irish cinemas on June 17 and the teaser trailer has just been released.

Don't let the 'Enfield' in the title confuse you, though: the sequel is set in the London borough, not the Co Meath town.

The film sees Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson reprise their roles as paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren. They travel to London to help a single mother (Frances O'Connor) and her four children.

There are no details at present on the characters played by Tudors star Doyle Kennedy and Bachelors Walk star Delaney.

The Conjuring director James Wan is once again behind the lens and has also written the screenplay for the follow-up to the world-wide box office hit.
