Girl Band, La Galaxie and Soak are among the nominees for this year's Choice Music Award, the annual €10,000prize for the Irish album of the year.

The full shortlist is for the Irish album of 2015 is:

The winning act will receive €10,000, a prize fund which has been provided by the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) and the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA).

The winning album will be selected by the judging panel at the Choice Music Prize Live Event at Vicar St, Dublin on Thursday March 3, which will be broadcast live on the Paul McLoone Show on Today FM.

The Shortlist for The Choice Music Prize - Irish Song of the Year 2015 will be announced on Wednesday January 27th. A Special event featuring exclusive performances from both Album of the Year and Song of The Year nominees will be held at The Workman’s Club, Dublin the same night.

Previous winners of the award, which began in 2005, have included Julie Feeney, The Gloaming, The Divine Comedy, and two-time winner Jape.
