Irish actor Emmett Scanlan has wed his former Hollyoaks co-star Claire Cooper in an intimate New Year's day ceremony in New York City.
The Dublin-born star tweeted about their nuptials with a cute montage photo of them as children along with the caption: "Just Married."
The couple stared dating in late 2010 when they both appeared on the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks and Scanlan popped the question on Christmas Eve 2014. Scanlan played villain Brendan Brady from 2010 to 2013, while Cooper played Jacqui McQueen from 2006 to 2013.

Wedding guests including Revenge actor Barry Sloane and Merlin star Eoin Macken, who took to Twitter to congratulate the newlyweds, with Macken saying it was "the most beautiful wedding ever".
