Play it By Year - the archive quiz show, compered by Mike Murphy - continues this evening at 6.30pm on RTÉ One; in Michael Palin's Quest for Artemesia (9.00pm BBC4), the Monty Python man sets off on a quest to investigate the story of a forgotten female artist, Artemisia Gentileschi, who painted over 400 years ago. There is another chance to see the documentary Shane MacGowan: A Wreck Reborn at 10.15pm, on Sky Arts.

Mike Murphy's archive quiz series continues tonight, and if you are a fan of Reeling in the Years you should enjoy all four nights.The game show delves into the RTÉ archives and quizzes contestants on their knowledge and memory of the ’80s, ’90s, noughties and now. Celebrity moments, politics, sport, quirky events and bizarre happenings of the last 35 years - it's all in the mix. In each show, three teams, each consisting of three team members, battle it out over nine nostalgic rounds for a holiday to Las Vegas. The series runs over four consecutive nights, having begun last night, Sunday. Tonight you can see the show at 6.30pm. On Tuesday, December 29, catch Mike and contestants at 6.30pm, and on Wednesday, December 30 the show also commences at 6.30pm.

Curious about a powerful but violent painting that once caught his eye, Michael Palin sets off on a quest to discover the astonishing story of the forgotten female artist who painted it over 400 years ago.Travelling to Italy in search of Artemisia Gentileschi's tale, Michael encounters her work in Florence, Rome and Naples. Michael discovers her paintings and investigates a complex life which included her rape as a teenager and the ensuing indignity of a full trial, her life as a working mother and her ultimate success as one of the greatest painters of the Baroque age. She transformed the way women were depicted in art and was sought after in many courts across 17th-century Europe.

Shane MacGowan: A Wreck Reborn, 10.15pm, Sky Arts
Another chance to see this rather interesting dental job.The Pogues' frontman Shane MacGowan has survived decades of hard living, but his teeth (or what's left of them) have not been looking so good in recent decades. Now, to sing as he once did, Shane needs new teeth. This documentary follows a unique restoration by dental specialists who work wonders on the singer. Dublin dentist Darragh Mulrooney worked on the project for nine months, and Sky Arts enjoyed exclusive access to the process.
