Snow Patrol are set to be honoured at JJ Abrams' annual Oscar Wilde party which takes place in Hollywood the night before the Academy Awards this February.

The Northern Irish rockers will join James Corden on the awards podium on the night as the talk show host set to receive the Honorary Irishman award in recognition of his contribution to film and television.

Snow Patrol will not only receive an award, they will also take to the stage and perform at the ceremony, which will take place at J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot production company in Santa Monica, California in front of stars such like Saoirse Ronan, Domhnall Gleeson and Michael Fassbender.

Dublin-born singer-songwriter, Róisín Ó will also perform at the event. The rising star, who is the daughter of Mary Black and the sister of The Coronas' star Danny O'Reilly, will most likely be singing songs from her critically-acclaimed debut album The Secret Life of Blue.

The party takes place during Oscars' Week every year and was created to forge connections between people in the entertainment fields from Ireland and America.

Trina Vargo, founder and president of the US-Ireland Alliance said, “we are hoping for a strong Irish presence in LA this year.  There is a lot of Oscar buzz around Room and Brooklyn.”   

Previous honourees include Colin Farrell, Saoirse Ronan, Brendan Gleeson and Van Morrison.
