Blathnaid Treacy is taking a trip down memory lane with her new documentary Well Holy God It's Glenroe, and she recalls getting up to mischief on the set of the show as a child.

Treacy played Biddy and Miley's daughter Denise on the long-running series, first appearing when she was just three months old.

Speaking to TEN, the Two Tube star said she had the brainwave to make a documentary about the classic RTÉ series because when anyone found out she had been in Glenroe "there was always a big deal made out of it and everyone had so many memories to do with it".

What was her favourite part of the series? "It was chatting to all the cast members, when they were in it they had a different time altogether because they were adults, they were in it for 18 years some of them from the beginning, so it was really nice speaking to them.

"Myself and Mary McEvoy went back to the farm together which was really nice, so I got to chat to her about her memories of it and her thoughts on it and what it was like for her, because I was a kid. So it was nice to go back on it with new eyes and chat to her about her experience because I only knew about my own experience. And also, seeing some of the old clips, hilarious!"

Her overriding memory from the experience on the long-running series is "waiting around between shooting scenes" and getting into trouble with her co-star Grace Barry, who played her little sister on the show. She said: "The two of us used to go running around the place messing and playing and getting into trouble making noise, because everything had to be quiet!"

Many young viewers have been traumatised by the closing theme of the show as it signified the end of the weekend, with Treacy joking about the "doom of the music". She said: It's so funny that the music just haunts everybody and you'll get to hear it again on the 27th which is great!
