Lauren Murray won't be heading to Wembley for the live final of The X Factor after narrowly losing out to Che Chesterman in the semi-final.
The 26-year-old dental receptionist performed Rachel Platten's Fight Song in the sing off, while 19-year-old Chesterman sang Simon & Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water but neither of their songs mattered after Simon sent the ultimate vote to deadlock.
"I just want to say thanks to everyone who voted for me and believed in me, to Rita, and to everyone backstage that made this process a lot easier for me," Lauren said on her exit.
Murray gave her spin on Naughty Boy and Beyoncé's Runnin' during The X Factor semi-final show on Saturday, and seemed to impress the judging panel.
"You get braver every week. To take on the most current Beyoncé song takes guts. I like this current realm that you sit in," Cheryl Fernandez-Versini said.
Simon Cowell was a bit more reserved in his comments, saying: "Watching you is like watching Eastenders - I'm up, I'm down."
Nick Grimshaw said he thought Lauren found herself, saying: "That song works for you. You brought it back."
Lauren's mentor Rita Ora said her contestant "can obviously sell records", adding: "Good for you for doing what you want to do."
In her VT, Lauren said she lives on an estate in North East London, and she sleeps in the living room, and she wants to win the show for her family as her life has already changed so much, but this is only the beginning.
Guest performances on Sunday's show included Sia who belted out her latest single Alive from new album This Is Acting, while Jason Derulo sang his catchy new song Want To Want Me from his latest record, Everything Is 4.
Louis Walsh is reportedly set to return to the X Factor for the live final in Wembley to take part in a "secret segment".
The 63-year-old Mayo native is believed to have met with music mogul and head judge Simon Cowell last week to map out his epic return to the music competition.
"Simon had Louis attend a private dinner in his house last week,” an insider told the Irish Mail On Sunday newspaper.
“There he told him that he wants him back on the series this year. They have a very special insert for him to do and only he can do it.
“To show that there was no bad feeling Louis has agreed to take part in the final and will be making his X Factor return.”

Walsh recently said that he would only return to the show as a full-time judge if there were certain people of the panel, saying: "I would only go back if it was going to be fun, I was there for 11 years and had an amazing time with Sharon Osbourne. Sharon's fun and I love Nicole Scherzinger. If they were back, who knows?"
When asked if he would work with Cheryl again, he said: "Not really. She's okay, but she doesn't give me the fun that Sharon gives me or Nicole gives me. For me, they're the two best judges ever and I like Mel B. She was great fun. And Gary Barlow too," he said.
