The first trailer from the last ever episode of Downton Abbey has been released and it hints there are huge changes in the pipeline for the Crawley family and their loyal servants.
With just two hours left to spend in the company of the Crawleys and the people who serve them downstairs, the final episode promises fans love and loss, happiness and heartbreak.
The first trailer for the feature-length episode, which will air on Christmas Day, opens with the staff singing Auld Lang Syne as familiar faces flash across the screen, including Lord Grantham (played by Hugh Bonneville) who is seen talking to his butler, Carson (Jim Carter).
"I hope you're not too unhappy about the way things have turned out," the aristocrat says.
"The world is a different place from the way it was, my lord, and Downton Abbey must change with it," Carson replies.
Henry Talbot (Matthew Goode) settles into the role of husband to Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) and stepfather to little George.
Meanwhile, Lady Edith (Laura Carmichael) encounters Bertie Pelham (Harry Hadden-Paton) and the family and servants will apparently bid farewell to controversial figure, Thomas Barrow (Rob James-Collier).
"I arrived here as a boy, I leave as a man," he says to those assembled, as George begs him to stay.
The Dowager Countess, played by the scene-stealing Maggie Smith, observes: "Every year we drink to the future, whatever it may bring."
A crowd raises a toast, but what they are toasting is not revealed.
"We never know what's coming, of course. Who does? But I'd say we have a good chance," Lord Grantham is heard to say.
Lily James reprises her role as Lady Rose Aldridge in the popular period drama created by Julian Fellowes.
Patricia Hodge, best known in recent years for her role in BBC One comedy Miranda, joins the cast as the mother of Bertie Pelham.
Matt Barber returns as Lady Rose's husband Atticus and Peter Egan is also back for the finale as Lady Rose's father, Hugh MacClare, Marquess of Flintshire.
As the family and servants prepare to welcome in 1926, they will celebrate an unforgettable New Year's Eve together at the great house.
