Sandra Bullock has adopted a second child, a three and a half year old girl named Laila.

Bullock, who adopted her son Louis in 2010, denied reports that she had adopted another child in October but has since revealed the details of the new addition to her family.

"When I look at Laila, there's no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here," Bullock told People magazine. "I can tell you absolutely, the exact right children came to me at the exact right time."

Before being adopted by the Oscar-winning star, Laila was in foster care in Louisiana, United States.

Bullock added that Louis has been helping her to make Laila feel at home with them, "I knew she was scared, and all I wanted was for her to know Louis and I weren't going anywhere."

Reports emerged in October that Bullock had adopted another child but she told the Associated Press that it was untrue, "There is only one adopted child in my household... If I had a second adopted child, everyone would be hearing about it. I would be loud and clear and say, 'Yes, I have officially adopted a second child'. Right now, Louis must be it."
