Yesterday it was reported that Courteney Cox and her Northern Irish fiancé, Snow Patrol guitarist Johnny McDaid, have ended their relationship causing widespread disbelief.
But it seems 2015 is the year of the relationship break-up, with a record number of celeb couples hitting the relationship rocks. We've rounded up the top TEN A-listers that headed to Splitsville this year.
10. Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams
With their mutual passion for singing and handful of duets, we thought this couple were a match made in heaven. Just weeks before their sixth wedding anniversary, Moore and Adam revealed they were filing for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences". A representative for the pair released a statement which read: "It is a respectful, amicable parting of ways, and both Mandy and Ryan are asking for media to respect their privacy at this time."
Shortly before the news broke, Mandy shared a photo to Instagram of two traffic signs: the first reading, 'Mercury Retrograde' and the second stating, 'PROCEED WITH CAUTION'. The caption supporting the snap, said 'Message received. #thatexplainsit #theworst'.
The musical couple tied the knot on March 10, 2009 in Savannah, Georgia after dating on-and-off for around a year.
9. Bradley Cooper and Suki Waterhouse
Every lady on the planet jumped for joy when Mr Cooper came back on the market, but we're sure Suki Waterhouse wasn't smiling about the situation. While we doubt the model was crying into a large tub of Ben & Jerry's (pass it this way), it can't have been easy to wave goodbye to one of the hottest specimens on the planet.
The 40-year-old Oscar-nominated actor and the 22-year-old star announced the news in March after two years of dating, with things reportedly crashing to an end when Suki expressed her desire to marry the Hollywood hunk (and who could blame her?).
The ex-couple were recently spotted throwing some shapes together at Glastonbury. Could a reunion be on the cards? Hats at the ready, Suki might get her wish after all.
The look of love....or not
Do I have anything in my teeth?
Why won't you marry me Cooper?
Tennis isn't all about the love :(
8. Louis Tomlinson and Eleanor Calder
This couple's relationship ended up going in the wrong direction after four years together. The former lovebirds reportedly went down a rocky road when the One D lads prepared to embark on their world tour, and Louis struggled to deal with the strains put on his personal life.
Back in 2012 Louis said that he was determined to make it work with Eleanor even with the band’s extreme fame, saying: “If your heart’s in it, then you’re not gonna mess about."
The beautiful couple had been dating since 2011 and met after Harry Styles introduced them. Cue Little Things playing in the background, while we sob at our desk.
We miss their funny faces appearing on our Instagram feed :(
'I think our relationship is heading in that direction'
There's nothing like a loved-up selfie. Hopefully, they can both put this pic back as their screensaver in the near future. Fingers crossed!
7. Britney Spears and Charlie Ebersol
Oops, she's single again. Brit Brit was said to be ready to walk down the aisle with her man of eight months, when Ebersol allegedly said “he was in it for the wrong reasons”. Soon after the news broke Spears deleted photos of the 32-year-old film producer, who is the son of NBC's Dick Ebersol and actress Susan Saint James, from her account.
While pop princess Britney seems to be doing just fine and recently posted a sweet snap of her spending quality time with her son Jayden, captioning the snap. “Malibu melts my heart,” Ebersol is said to be "torn up" about the whole thing (But didn't he break up with her?).
A source claimed: "He really thought she could be the one. He is a very private, family guy and saw Britney fitting right in."
Poor Britney, we really hope the next guy is a keeper.

6. Emma Roberts and Evan Peters
The American Horror Story: Freak Show stars are another couple who axed their wedding, after three years together. Peters popped the question over the Christmas holidays, and thankfully they are still on amicable terms.
Commenting on their split, a source said: "Their three years together just ran its course," a source told the publication, adding that the break-up was amicable.
They source continued: "They have so many great memories together but couldn't make it work in the end."
Emma and Evan first met while filming 2013's Adult World, though to the former's admission, they didn't begin dating until long after.
The former lovebirds attended Twentieth Century Fox Television's Comic-Con Stars & Producers Cocktail Party during Comic-Con International 2014 at Pizzeria Mozza on July 26, 2014.
Stealing a kiss at the 2014 PaleyFest - Closing Night Presentation - American Horror Story on March 28, 2014.
All smiles at the premiere of Walt Disney Pictures' The Lone Ranger at Disney California Adventure Park on June 22, 2013.
5. Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards
Former One Direction star Zayn Malik called off his engagement to Little Mix's Perrie Edwards in August, not that long after his departure from the boyband. The couple had been together for three years and were rumoured to have just bought a house together in London.
Before their split they had been plagued by rumours of Zayn being unfaithful while on tour with 1D and many believed his decision to leave the band was partly to do with putting his relationship with Perrie first.
Directioners and Mixers alike were devastated by the news and we haven't fully gotten over this one ourselves.
4. Charlize Theron and Sean Penn
And now we're into the top three - we are still recovering from this breakup (ouchy). The pair reportedly clashed over marriage, which lead to to the end of their 19 month romance. The Hollywood stars had been together since 2013, after decades of being friends, and got engaged in December 2014.
Apparently, Theron was the one who called it off, and ended their relationship shortly after they returned from Europe, in June. You know what they say 'holidays can make or break' a relationship. We're guessing it's because Penn forgot to pack the sun cream.
We were truly heartbroken over this breakup
The couple have been friends for decades
3. Brian McFadden and Vogue Williams
Irish model and DJ Vogue Williams and former Westlife singer Brian McFadden went their separate ways after nearly three years of marriage in July after just setting their sights on buying a house in Howth, Co. Dublin.
They were one of Ireland's favourite celeb couples and they broke the sad news of their split on Twitter with Vogue posting, "It is with sadness that Brian and I have made the tough decision to go our separate ways. We will always care greatly about each other, remain friends and wish each other all the very best for the future. We have nothing else to say on the subject and we would like to thank our friends and family for their support during this difficult period. Vogue x"
In April the 35-year-old Real to Me singer gushed about his 29-year-old wife, saying she was his "soulmate" and describing their first encounter as love at first sight.
"We instantly clicked and talked non stop for eight hours the night we met and I proposed eight months after," he said.
While the news of their split has settled with us, we still hold out hope that the rumours of a reconciliation being on the cards are true.
2. Zayn Malik and One Direction
Millions of hearts broke all over the world when One Direction's Zayn Mailk announced his departure from the band after five years. The news came just days after the 22-year-old singer left the boyband's On the Road Again tour, citing stress as the reason for returning to the UK.
A statement released by the band reads: "After five incredible years, Zayn Malik has decided to leave One Direction. Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson will continue as a four-piece and look forward to the forthcoming concerts of their world tour and recording their fifth album, due to be released later this year."
Music guru Louis Walsh hinted that Malik left the group because of his fiancée, Little Mix's Perrie Edwards, saying: "‘What I found in the past is as things get on, and as they get girlfriends, the girlfriends are whispering things in their ears and saying like 'You should be a solo star', 'You should be the lead singer' - that’s usually the problem."
Angry One Direction fans even compared Perrie to the widow of the late Beatles star, John Lennon. Regardless of what happened, we think this is one breakup that will still be talked about in twenty years time.

Was Perrie Edwards to blame?
Mum's the word: Will fans ever find out the real reason why Zayn left One Direction?
1. Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid
Courteney Cox and Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid became engaged in July 2014 after 6 months of dating and we were shocked and stunned when we heard the news. The pair remained relatively private about their relationship but over the last year we've enjoyed hearing updates about their wedding planning - Ed Sheeran was going to officiate after all!
McDaid reportedly called time on the relationship after some intensive couples therapy and it's rumoured that they went their separate ways a whole month before the news began to break, with the musician moving out of the former Friends stars Los Angeles home. Neither star has confirmed the split but you shouldn't hold your breath waiting for an officially announcement - they're too private for that.
