Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer has admitted that she found it difficult to understand what her Irish boyfriend was saying when the pair first got together.
The British actress, who also plays Cressida in The Hunger Games movies, met her fiancé Anthony Byrne while she was filming The Tudors in Dublin.
"When you spend two years in Ireland you end up with an Irishman," she says. "There were translation issues in the beginning of the relationship but we worked through them.
"We're the personification of the Anglo-Irish Agreement,” she told the Irish Daily Mirror, while adding that there are phrases she still finds particularly funny.
"I now know all the Irish idioms. We had long debates about it not being a hot press but an airing cupboard," she said.
The 33-year-old spends a lot of time in Ireland with fiancé Anthony but revealed she spent the holiday hiding her head in Dublin after it was shaved for her part in The Hunger Games.
“I was in Neary’s having a pint on Christmas Eve with a beanie hat on – I didn’t want to take it off.
“The filmmakers wanted me to hide it for a while before the movie’s release,” she said.
