The first two leaders have been chosen for the new series of Operation Transformation on RTÉ One.

They are Dan Kennedy from Beaumont in Dublin and Noeleen Lynam from Raharney, Co Westmeath.

The identities of the two new leaders were revealed on the Ray D'Arcy Show on RTÉ Radio 1 on Tuesday afternoon.

Forty-four-year-old Dan currently weighs 19st. He works part-time as an administrator for the Athletic Union League and also volunteers with the Football Association of Ireland, looking after members of the national team when they are in Dublin. Dan was a keen footballer in his youth and had trials with a number of clubs in England. He stopped playing as a pastime aged 33 and does not currently exercise.

Dan's father died of a massive heart attack aged 45 when Dan was just five-years-old. With Dan himself turning 45 next year, he wants to do something about his weight and health.

Fifty-year-old Noeleen currently weighs 11st 10lbs. The Vice-Principal at St Patrick's National School in Baconstown, Co Meath wants to take part in the show to change her lifestyle for good, rather than again following fad diets.

Noeleen is heavily involved in musical theatre with the Leixlip Musical & Variety Group but her dancing is currently limited to watching Strictly Come Dancing on television. She hopes to become a role model for the children in her school and lead by example.

The other leaders will be revealed on the Ray D'Arcy Show this week and Operation Transformation will be back on RTÉ One in January.
