Harrison Ford has revealed he remains keen on filming another Indiana Jones movie and would be up for sporting his trademark fedora once again.

Ford, who will reprise his role as space smuggler Han Solo in the new Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens, told Entertainment Weekly that he would "love" to return to the action adventure franchise.

“Yeah, I’d love to do another Indiana Jones,” said Ford, “A character that has a history and a potential, kind of a rollicking good movie ride for the audience, Steven Spielberg as a director — what’s not to like?”

Producer Frank Marshall recently confirmed that a new Indiana Jones movie with Ford as lead was being discussed. However, he revealed that the movie would be designed to include room for new heroes, echoing of The Force Awakens’ dynamic.

Spielberg, who directed all four Indiana Jones movies between 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark and 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, also revealed he has strong hopes to work with Ford soon.

"I can't wait to work with you again on Indiana Jones 5. This is no announcement, just my fervent hope,"  68-year-old Spielberg said during a recorded VT honouring Harrison Ford at the Britannia Awards.

Disney bought rights to Indiana Jones from creator George Lucas as part of its $4.05bn purchase of Star Wars production company Lucasfilm in October 2012.

The Indiana Jones franchise has taken almost $2bn at the global box office, placing the saga in the top 20 highest-grossing series of all time.
