Trad supergroup The Gloaming have announced plans to release a follow up album to their award winning self titled debut next year.

The group, made up of  fiddle player Martin Hayes, Iarla Ó Lionáird, Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh, Dennis Cahill and Thomas Bartlett released their first album earlier this year and picked up a plethora of awards including the Meteor Choice Music Prize for Album of the Year, a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award and was selected by The Guardian as The One Album You Should Hear This Week.

Released on Peter Gabriel’s Real World label, the singer himself said of the album: “The Gloaming is a wonderful mix of soulful and passionate talents who have created their own genre".

The as yet untitled new album is set for release in late February 2016 and comes hot on the heels of sell out tours in the UK and United States.

The group are also due to play five concerts at the National Concert Hall in Dublin in March, with only a handful of tickets remaining.
