It is reported that the stars of Coronation Street are to be given new rules about what they can post to social media as new boss Kate Oates seeks to put her stamp on the soap and prevent spoilers.
Oates takes up the post in 2016. She is currently the producer of Emmerdale and has kept a tight rein on show content appearing on Twitter and other platforms.
British newspaper The Mirror, quoting an unnamed source, said that younger members of the Coronation Street cast are in for a shock as Oates plans to ban mobiles on set and would seek to dismiss any cast or crew who revealed storylines outside of work.

Regulation Street?
"They will be told to rein in their actions of posting stuff on social media when it comes to work and the Corrie set," said the source.
"And if they think they will be able to take their phones with them when they are filming…then forget it."
The source described Oates as "a bit old school" in her views on social media and publicity.
"Another massive bug bear to her is the leaking of plotlines. Again, it never happened while she was at the helm at Emmerdale, and she hates that loads of Corrie stuff is getting out before it's on screen," they said.
