Coldplay frontman Chris Martin said that he went "through some big changes and figured out where I've gone wrong" following his breakup with his wife of 12 years Gwyneth Paltrow.
The couple, who famously "consciously uncoupled" last year, have two children, Apple and Moses and are still regularly seen together.
Speaking on Australian radio station 2DayFM, 38-year-old Martin said: 'I went through some big changes . . . everyone knows about them.'
He added that the split from Paltrow (43) allowed him to "figure out where I've gone wrong in my way of looking at the world. A few years ago I was in a low place in my life and was feeling kind of down and confused.
"Some friends gave me a book and a poem and those two things started me off on this whole journey where I just feel so happy to be alive.'
Martin is on the promo trail for Coldplay's new album A Head Full of Dreams which is released in December and he also told 2DayFM: "I suddenly feel very grateful to be alive and if it's coming across then that's great to hear.'
