US cable network AMC has released the first trailer for Preacher, the comic book adaptation which stars Mamma Mia!'s Dominic Cooper and Love/Hate actress Ruth Negga.
The 10-episode first season will premiere on AMC in the middle of 2016, and will be executive produced by actor Seth Rogen.
Based on writer Garth Ennis and illustrator Steve Dillon's cult comic, Preacher tells the story of Jesse Custer (Cooper), a Texan preacher who becomes possessed by a supernatural creature.
Joining him on his adventures are his ex-girlfriend, criminal crack-shot Tulip (Negga), and Irish vampire Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun).
The trio embark on a journey to find God and hold him accountable for "abandoning mankind".
Rogen developed the series with his production partner Evan Goldberg, who directed This is the End and The Interview. Goldberg also directed the pilot for Preacher and will work as an executive producer alongside Rogen.
Sam Catlin, who was a writer and co-executive producer on AMC's Breaking Bad, wrote the script for the pilot and will serve as showrunner.
