One Direction's Niall Horan has denied rumours that there is tension between the band and told his fans not to believe what they read.

The 22-year-old Mullingar native said there is no truth to recent reports claiming bandmates Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles haven't spoken properly or travelled together since they moved out of their shared apartment in 2012.

Taking to Twitter, Horan set the record straight, writing: "don't believe anything you are reading. We stand strong as a band and we're brothers ,can't wait for you to hear what we've been working on [sic]".

Louis Tomlinson rcently insisted that the chart-topping band  "fully intend" to come back following their planned hiatus, while Horan says their last gig will be "emotional".

The boyband are preparing to perform their final concert before they take a break tonight at the Sheffield Arena in northern England, ending their On The Road Again Tour.

Speaking to ITV news, the 23-year-old singer said: "We fully intend to come back. We absolutely love this. We had a little sit down before and we decided that we wanted a break.

"We've had a very intense couple of years so we're just going to have a little bit of breathing time and spend that with our families.

"I don't think anyone could keep this pace up forever so I think it's the most healthy and constructive thing for all of us."

The now four-piece band have sold more than 50 million records worldwide and plan to take at least a year off.

Horan admitted that the last gig of the tour will be hard, saying: "We've done almost 1,000 shows or more over the last few years so to think we won't do one for over a year will be strange, so it will be a little bit emotional."
