Russell Brand lashes his former wife Katy Perry and celebrity life in general in his forthcoming documentary BRAND: A Second Coming.
The film chronicles Brand on his journey from addict, self-proclaimed narcissist and Hollywood star to his current role as a self-proclaimed political disruptor and agitator.
"Oh my f***ing god," he yells in the film's official trailer. "I'm living this life of the very thing I detest. Vapid, vacuous celebrity." Meanwhile a video of Perry plays in the background. It's also reported that Brand mocks her accent in the film.
In Katy Perry's 2012 concert movie Part of Me, the singer blamed her divorce from Brand on conflicting schedules, sobbing on-screen as their marriage came to an end after only 14 months.
But Brand's new documentary hits a little harder, blaming Perry's disinterest in Brand's quest to "save the world," as the trailer puts it.
According to early previews, Brand also had a hard time dealing with a visit to Nairobi, where children forage for food and then going back to a life where he attends glamorous parties with Perry.
Perry and Brand in happier times
Brand and Perry met in 2009 after the singer threw a water bottle at his head during rehearsals for that year's MTV Video Music Awards.
They married the next year in a Hindu ceremony in India, only for Brand to end the marriage allegedly via text message a little over a year later.
