Daniel Craig has said he feels 'blessed' to have movie baddie Christoph Waltz in the new James Bond film Spectre.

Academy Award-winning actor Waltz makes his Bond debut in the soon-to-be-released Spectre as the villainous Franz Oberhauser and Craig told RTÉ 2fm's Rick O'Shea that he was thrilled to have him join the cast, "We're just lucky, blessed, to have him and the fact that he agreed to do this, it's all of our gain."

The final version of Spectre was only finished a week ago and Craig is "very proud" of the finished product.

"I'm very proud of all of them but this one was kind of a culmination of all of those movies," he said. "We had massive success with Skyfall and Sam [Mendes, director] made a brilliant, brilliant movie, so we came to do this like, 'What will we do now', and both of us agreed that we wanted to celebrate Bond... It was a joy to work with Sam again, I'm very proud of it."

Spectre marks Craig's fourth turn as 007 and the 47-year-old actor said that while he "doesn't bounce as well" any more and has been injured on set, he loves the creativity that comes with playing the super spy, "I get such a kick out of, genuinely, the biggest kick I get out of it is the creativity, you get given this massive canvass to work on, which is like a kid in a sweet shop... You can do anything you really want to do."

Spectre hits cinemas on October 26.
