Jerry Seinfeld: laughing all the way to the bank

The list of the world's ten highest-paid comedians has been announced, and once again Jerry Seinfeld is laughing all the way to the bank after holding on to the top spot.

According to Forbes the legendary US comic earned $36 million (€32.2m) between June 1, 2014 and June 1, 2015. Much of that was due to his classic 1990s TV show Seinfeld, which remains a global hit through syndication.

Not so funny. No women in the top 10

There are no women in the top ten, despite the success of Sarah Silverman, Amy Schumer, Chelsea Handler and others. British comic John Bishop, at number nine, is the only non-North American to feature.

Kevin Hart moved up to second, with earnings of $28.5m (€25.5m) thanks to both touring and starring in several Hollywood movies such as Get Hard and The Wedding Ringer.

Louis CK comes in seventh place with $9m, while Dave Chappelle's comedy comeback earned him tenth place and an impressive $7.5m.

Here's the top ten in full:
