Liam Payne suffered a "meltdown" which led to One Direction cancelling their Belfast concert on Tuesday evening, according to unconfirmed reports.
Payne was struck down with a mystery illness which led to the last minute cancellation of the concert at the city's SSE Arena - the first of three gigs in Belfast.
A source told The Sun newspaper that the 22-year-old singer was "physically" unable to get on the stage.
"The pressure of fame and being on the road for two years have made Liam ill," they revealed. "He wasn't physically able to get on stage. He had a complete meltdown."
The source continued: “Liam’s stress has been brewing for quite a while and it hasn’t helped that his future is uncertain with the break coming up".
There's been no response from the band or its management to the claim.
Yesterday Payne sent a number of tweets saying that he was feeling much better and thanked fans for their support.
I'm so sorry to everybody I disappointed last night. I'm feeling better now. I really hope everyone can make the rescheduled date on Friday.

Thousands of fans were left distraught at the cancellation of the gig on Tuesday. Yesterday Harry Styles said that Payne was "very, very ill', and that they "very much apologise to everyone" for cancelling their gig at the SSE Arena.
Tuesday night's concert has now been rescheduled to tomorrow night, though many fans and parents were left angered at the last minute cancellation of the gig. Last night the band took to the stage as planned much to the relief and delight of those attending.
Payne told the crowd: “I just want to apologise to the people who were supposed to be here yesterday, I hope they can make it to the show on Friday. Thank you so much for all the love and support.
“I really hope you guys have the best time possible tonight. Like I said I am feeling much better now in the company of all you beautiful people.”
