YouTube's new $10 a month ad-free service Red is preparing to launch with reports that it will be available in Ireland soon.
Red's subscription plan offers ad-free videos, new original series and movies from top YouTubers vlogger such as PewDiePie. There will also be on-demand unlimited streaming music.
The Journal.ie reports that Red, which launches in the US on October 28, builds on Google’s existing music streaming service with ad-free access to YouTube programming, and allows subscribers to download videos to mobile devices and have music playing in the background while using other mobile apps.
Red follows Hulu, Pandora, Spotify and TuneIn, who all offer ad-free as a paid option. The new paid for service will feature exclusive access to new videos to be launched in 2016 and the YouTube Music Key service for music videos, which will be renamed YouTube Music.
