Crack open the Bollinger sweeties. After years of rumour and denial the movie version of Absolutely Fabulous is finally happening with filming now underway.
The project will mark the first big screen outing for the hit comedy and the good news for fans is that the whole original cast on board. Both Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley have said they're delighted filming on Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie has begun at last.
Saunders, who reprises her role as shambolic PR guru Edina said, "I am thrilled and excited to finally start filming. We are all on the Sanatogen and hoping for the best."
Appropriate for their cinematic debut, Edina and Patsy are still oozing glitz and glamour, living the high life they are accustomed to; shopping, drinking and clubbing their way around London’s trendiest hotspots.
Blamed for a major incident at an uber fashionable launch party, they become entangled in a media storm and are relentlessly pursued by the paparazzi. Fleeing penniless to the glamorous playground of the super-rich, the French Riviera, they hatch a plan to make their escape permanent and live the high life forevermore.
The film will shoot on location in the UK and France with its release set for 2016.
