Roger Moore has joked that he would love to play James Bond again – at least we hope he was joking.

The 88-year-old actor played the 007 agent for a run of seven films in the 1970s and '80s, beginning with Live and Let Die and ending with A View to a Kill.

When asked who he thinks could replace Daniel Craig, the current James Bond, Moore told the Loose Women panel that he would love to have a shaken Martini once more.

"Why don't they have a geriatric 007? I'll come back!" he said on the ITV daytime show.

But Moore was also full of praise for Craig's performances as the legendary spy. "I think he's terrific," he said. "He's a great Bond. He looks like a killer, he really does. Frightens me!"
