Twin Peaks and Eraserhead director David Lynch will react to the “bull****" surrounding his life story in a new book due in 2017. Lynch has enlisted the help of US journalist Kristine McKenna to write the book, Life and Work.

“There’s a lot of bull**** out there about me, in books and all over the Internet,” Lynch said in a statement released through publishers Canongate. “I want to get all the right information in one place, so if someone wants to know something, they can find it here. And I wouldn’t do it with anyone other than Kristine; she and I go way back, and she gets it right.”

Lynch’s co-author has been a devout fan of the director ever since she saw Eraserhead which 'blew her mind. She acknowledges the “inexhaustible imagination” which has made his work “increasingly complex and beautiful.”

Life and Work is based on interviews with 90 of the director’s friends, family and collaborators, while the filmmaker is also “riffing on his own life” in the book.

Lynch is currently shooting a third series of Twin Peaks - his best-known work for TV - which is also due for release in 2017.
