Shia LaBoeuf was arrested in Austin, Texas for public intoxication on Friday night.

The 29-year-old actor was stopped by police on a sidewalk in the city around 7.30pm and released later that evening, according to TMZ.

LaBoeuf, who has previously been arrested for disorderly behaviour and being verbally abusive, was described by witnesses as being "blitzed and out of control and disobeying police". 

The actor was seen running down the street before jaywalking (crossing the road illegally) which brought him to the attention of some nearby police. The police reportedly gave him a warning which he ignored, resulting in his arrest. 

The Transformers star is reportedly in town for the Austin City Limits music festival.
