Cathriona White, the ex girlfriend of actor Jim Carrey, will be laid to rest this Saturday in her hometown of Cappawhite, Co Tipperary.

She is to be buried alongside her father Pat, at Cappawhite Cemetery.

Her body was found on Monday last week at her rented home in Sherman Oaks in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed that her body was released to her husband, cameraman Mark Burton.

An official told The Hollywood Reporter: "She had a husband, we have a husband as next of kin. We're not releasing any more information on next of kin, but we do have her as married."

According to reports she had been separated from him for five months and had planned on divorcing him. A source told US media, “As far as Jim was concerned, Cathriona was separated."

The 30-year-old make up artist and Carrey had been dating on and off since meeting on a film set 2012. Cathriona trained as a beauty therapist in Ireland before moving to Los Angeles in 2009, where she worked behind the scenes in Hollywood. She also worked as an actor.

Following her death Carrey released an emotional statement, saying: "She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."

Jim Carrey is expected to fly to Ireland for Cathriona's funeral at the weekend.
